New Constituency Assistant for Nick Herbert MP

Arundel & South Downs MP, Nick Herbert, is delighted to have appointed Michelle Bidwell to his team as his new Constituency Researcher.

Michelle is a Henfield resident, mother to a seven-year-old son and has lived in the area for ten years.  She is ideally located in the constituency which covers the villages and towns from Hassocks through to Arundel.

Michelle is replacing Matthew Jones who is moving on after three years to take up the post of Archivist to the College of Arms in London.

She will work alongside South Downs Conservative Association Agent, Russell Tanguay, who is based in Steyning.  He will continue to focus on party matters, while Michelle will support Nick's work with his constituents and local businesses through visits, meetings and surgeries.  The position will also involve close liaison with Gloria Nicholl, Nick's PA, and his research team, who are all based at Westminster.

Michelle commented: "This is a dream job, working locally for a busy MP, and getting involved with local issues.  In the few weeks since I started working for Nick, I have been made aware of just how many local issues there are that the MP gets involved with.

"Arundel and South Downs is a very large constituency and I look forward to meeting the residents of its many villages and towns with Nick."

Nick Herbert commented: "I am delighted that Michelle is joining my team and it's great to have someone who lives in the constituency supporting my work.

"I wish Matthew Jones all the best in his prestigious new position as he returns to his profession as an archivist.  He did a great job for me and local people in the constituency, and I'm sure that Michelle will follow in his footsteps."
