Towns and villages

While the constituency does not have a natural centre it has many picturesque towns and villages within it.

People have been settling in this area since before the Bronze Age with many of the Downland villages being able to trace their origins back to this period.

The unique character of the constituency's towns and villages has not only been shaped by the natural characteristics of the Downs but also by the many people who have passed through and settled in them.

Despite their rich heritage and long history many of the villages continue to thrive and remain a vibrant place for people to live and work.

The pages below offer you a guide to the history of the larger settlements in the constituency and also to what they have to offer today.
